Some of our members have received letters from Central United Life Insurance asking for various amounts of money to keep their supplemental insurance in force.
This policy is administered through Employee Benefit Systems, or EBS. I would suggest calling EBS and getting the correct amount (if any). This is mostly due to the furloughs of December.
The EBS number is 888-521-2900.

| Trade Adjustment Assistance |

The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program provides benefits and assistance to workers that become unemployed due to the impact of international trade.
With help from Steve Rooney, workers at Cessna have been approved to receive assistance from this program. Workers separated from employment on or after November 11, 2009, including on-site leased workers from Manpower and Aerotek, are eligible.

| Stop the Radio Tax |

There are two pending bills in Congress, H.R.848 and S.379.
There are so many negative things about these bills. Money from this tax will benifit foreign record labels, fewer songs played on the radio, and what we really hate to see... more job losses.

| As a result of the Grand Lodge Convention held in September of 2008, It's time again for dues to change. Effective January 1, 2011, monthly dues will increase by $3.84. A portion of the increase will go to the International ($2.59), and the other portion will go to District 70 ($1.25). The amount going to Local Lodge 774 has not increased. |
