| The community service committee is working hard. We had a very good month for the Prairie Land Food. We invite everyone to come try it and see if it will save you some money. We are sure it will. This is available to everyone, you don't need to be a member and there are no income guidelines, its just a cheaper way to buy your food. | |

The New Cutting Edge |
 | The 2009 Communications Conference became the launchsite for the new GoIAM 3.0 website. |
With the increasing popularity of social networking sites, blogs, and ways to interact with content on the web, the IAM Communications Department has introduced the new GoIAM website. Along with the new look you can also share, rank, and comment on stories that are important to you. Other ways to get information is to start following the IAM Twitter page and become a fan of the IAM on Facebook. |
“Our goal is to bring IAM communications into the 21st century and better stake our claim in conversations important to our members and working families” |

Recent Dues Increase |
|
Fellow Local Lodge 774 Brothers and Sisters...
This year, 2009, we will have a dues increase of $5.60 a month, which works out to $1.40 a week. Before you get all excited, lets go over what this means and where it came from.
The Grand Lodge has a convention every four years. As you remember, in September 2008 we sent our elected Local Lodge 774 delegates to the convention to conduct the business of the International Association of Machinists.
The International had proposed to peg dues to 2% of gross wages, which would have about doubled our dues.
