In preparation for Kansas statewide elections on August 2, 2022, https://imvotingunion.com has been updated with candidate endorsements from last week’s Kansas AFL-CIO Cope Convention.

Users can enter their home address and find candidates that the Labor Federation has endorsed in their area. No need to know your district numbers in advance. In addition to endorsements, you can find helpful information on how to check your voter registration, sign up for advanced ballots, and learn other important election dates. The website encompasses all of the AFL-CIO candidate endorsements for Kansas (statewide), including the recommendations for County Commissioners in Sedgwick and Reno counties.

Apprenticeship Opportunities at Textron Aviation

Textron Aviation is growing its apprenticeship opportunities with an Avionics Technician Apprenticeship and a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining Apprenticeship. The new positions build on the company’s established collaborative apprenticeship program to address long-term production and tooling requirements for Textron Aviation’s aircraft programs. The robust two-year program will run from August 2022 to August 2024 and includes factory training at Textron Aviation facilities and classroom training through WSU Tech for a well-rounded learning experience. As Textron Aviation employees, program participants will earn a full-time salary and benefits, and the company will also cover related tuition and fees at WSU Tech. The arrangement is a collaboration between Textron Aviation, WSU Tech, and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) to grow the skills of Textron Aviation employees and provide new opportunities throughout their careers. Applications for 2022 opportunities must be submitted by Friday, June 17.
