Negotiator’s from Spirit AeroSystems, Johnson Controls, Inc. and Textron Aviation wrapped up a third day of training with instructor, Chris Wagoner the IAM Director of the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center (W3). Brother Wagoner was brought in to instruct a “Strategic Planning Program – Bargaining” class for negotiators with contracts set to expire within the next 14 months here in District 70. We appreciate the support of the IAM Grand Lodge and Southern Territory as we prepare to negotiate industry-leading agreements in the “Air Capital of the World”!

With multiple collective bargaining agreements set to expire over the course of the next 14 months, Chris Wagoner, IAM Director of the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology center was brought in to instruct a “Strategic Planning Program – Bargaining” class for negotiators in District 70. Brother Wagoner is instructing the three-day class, held June 25-27, 2019 for IAM negotiating committee members from Spirit AeroSystems, Johnson Controls, Inc. and Textron Aviation.
“District 70 with the help of the Grand Lodge will be approaching negotiations differently than we have in the past,” said President and Directing Business Representative Cornell Beard, “Giving the membership a greater voice in the 2020 contract negotiating process.”

All food collected this Saturday, May 11 will go to the Kansas Food Bank and then will be distributed from there to local food pantries around our community at no cost to the agency, and at a time when the need for food is great. To volunteer Call 2-1-1.

Join the event committee meeting for the 14th Annual LL774 Spring Classic Golf Invitational on Thursday, May 16, at 4:00 PM. You can also download the flyer and registration form here. The event date is Saturday, June 1, 2019, to be held at Sand Creek Station Golf Course, Newton, KS. All proceeds to benefit Guide Dogs of America.
