Spring is upon us, which means it’s time to set clocks forward one hour on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:00 a.m.

While we will always bargain in good faith, we encourage every bargaining unit member to begin preparing for the possibility of a strike in the next round of negotiations with Textron Aviation, scheduled for 2029. Taking proactive steps now can help ensure financial stability and peace of mind, no matter what happens.

**Meeting Notice – February 2026**

We are pleased to announce the Wichita Area Union Label and Service Trades Annual Chili Feed and Hobo Supper Fundraiser, scheduled for Saturday, February 14th, at 5:30 p.m. The event will take place at IAM District 70, located at 3830 S. We will hold discussions to evaluate our labor strike against Textron Aviation, focusing on the following areas:

• What didn’t work
• What did work
• How to improve our strike strategy
• Create a comprehensive strike playbook for any future actions

These discussions will help us learn from our experience, strengthen our tactics, and ensure we are better prepared for future strikes.

ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THE 2024 LABOR STRIKE AGAINST TEXTRON AVIATION ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, members attending the general membership meeting participated in a second reading and voted on the proposed bylaw changes. The changes approved by the members were sent to the IAM’s International headquarters for review and approval. After review, the changes were accepted and returned as approved. Kansas Aviation Employee Tax Credits

Who can get the tax credit?

This income tax credit is available to individuals who have been hired by a Kansas-based employer in the aviation sector for a full-time job on or after January 1, 2022. You must also have a degree or technical certificate from a qualified program. The credit is also available to an employee relocating to Kansas with an out-of-state qualifying degree or certificate.

The Kansas Aviation Tax Credit is currently authorized for five years from 2022 to 2026.

When critical votes come up, we need to be able to mobilize quickly, and this text line is how we’ll do it. As you know, things move fast under the dome. Legislation can advance—or die—in a matter of days. We’ll do our best to keep you informed as the session progresses.
